Книга: Giorgione

I always believed that if I had ever been asked to write a book about Giorgione perhaps I would have called it Giorgione?, with a question mark, because of the smokescreen and uncertainty surrounding the mas­ter"s story. Suffice it to remember that not a single signature by the artist remains, that in 1510-the year of his death-merely four of his works were supported by documentary evidence (and of these only one, the Fondaco Nude, is extant, and in terrible condition), to which may be added five short archival records.
