Professor Stephen F. Myler had travelled around the world from the time of his boyhood, first with his family on a ten-pound ticket to Australia, then as an adult researching animal behaviour in South America. In between, he has visited many countries, working, researching or for pleasure, but always with a keen eye for a story. In the Travelling Psychologist, Dr. Myler looks back at his life in the form of short anecdotal stories of incidences that happened to him while on his travels. From being slapped by black police in Africa to being caught up in a volcano in Ecuador to standing in the remains of Auschwitz in Poland, he has seen the world and, through this book, we can share the adventure and know what it is like to be a witness to a changing world, and one to be experienced first hand. Dr. Myler lives in the exciting city of Shanghai as a clinical and counselling psychologist treating patients and advising Chinese companies on psychological matters and management. His two grown-up daughters, Kerry and Josie, live and work in England. His future travel plans are always in his mind, and who knows where he will go next?
